Pissis and Ojos del Salado are the highest volcanoes in the world. This expedition takes place in the Atacama Desert, the driest place on earth. As it is a very remote area, it is still virgin, wild, totally uninhabited and free from visitors. The landscape consists of turquoise salt lakes and big perfectly-shaped volcanoes that add a wide range of colors to the region. We will visit hot springs, watch flamingos and drive along technical routes for 4×4 in order to get to the Pissis base camp (4,500 m).
We will acclimatize from Las Grutas (4,000 m), near the San Francisco Pass (4,800 m). It is an ideal place because of its access, drinking water and closeness to the mountains.
We will also ascend to the mountains Mirador (4,900 m), Bertrand (5,200 m) or San Francisco (6,018 m), Pissis (6,782 m) and Ojos del Salado (6,893 m).
