Long Lines Europe

Climbing the most beautiful and longest rock routes
By rossini 7 years ago

Café & Kuchen is a beautiful climbing line that runs along the west wall of Traunstein, a mountain that is very close to the city of Gmunden, in Upper Austria.

In general, it has a very good-quality rock to climb on slabs, dihedrals and some overhangs. Except in its first seven pitches (up to V grade) and a couple of easy climbs, it is a route of a sustained VI grade.

It is a “modern-style” route fully belayed with parabolts, which also makes it a very safe route. It was done by Toni Neudorfer and Eric Horwarth over several years. The first ascent was made by the authors in 2008.
